Python stuck on sticky trap

I don't know if anyone has seen this new T.V. show called
"Tuckerville", with Tanya Tucker and her family.

Anyway on the previews for this week, has the whole family around this young python and Tanya on the phone with vet I guess..

They show this poor snake that is stuck to one of those STICKY MOUSE TRAPS! Its stuck from its the bottom side of his jaw and about 3-4inches more of his body is stuck.

Im sorry but this just drives me crazy! How in the world are they going to get it off the trap? Wont this whole thing just stress the poor snake out too much?

Has anyone ever had this happen or knows someone that did?

I've read that it is illegal to cause animlas of ANY kind harm or death from television or movies. Could be an illusion or something else, hope so too

They can show something like that if it happened unintentionally, they can't do it on purpose to the animal but it sounds like they were at least looking for help. I guess I don't know much about the show, but a mineral-based solvent should get most of the gunk off the animal without too much harm provided you give it a good bath afterward...then again, that close to the nose, I'd still be worried about ANY solvent being the cause of a future respiratory infection. All in all, not a situation I'd want to happen.

Hello,

If they successfully get the snake off of the mouse trap, the sticky stuff left on him will come off during the next shed.

That's horrible I sure hope he was able to be saved.

When my corn snake Jack got stuck on electrical tape that we had used to hold down a thermometer cord in his tank (we're not using it anymore...I learned to never put tape in a tank!), he was stuck from belly to jaw, and it took us two hours to work him loose in warm water. Then his jaw was still stuck because we couldn't hold his head under water to work it loose, so we used a Q-tip to daub a tiny amount of olive oil between the tape and his jaw. The olive oil worked really well, and I wondered if we should have used it on all the places he was stuck...it was definitely quicker than the warm water, but I was afraid putting oil all over him might hurt him. It was one of the most awful things I've ever experienced. I really thought we'd lose him.
