I've spent several hundred dollars gathering treats for all my family members. We get together and do pumpkins, pinatas, caramel apples, etc. The only bigger 'family holiday' for us is St. Patricks' day. I've also signed up to help out at a local charity haunted house, and a few other little local things. No partying for me here... all it is around here on Halloween night is dangerously drunk frat boys and wannabe gangbangers trying to prove how tough they are. No thanks.

I love the big deal you guys make out of Halloween - it's one of my favourite holidays but we don't have as much fun here! We were supposed to be going to a fancy-dress party organised by a work colleague, but we can't make it I guess we'll just sit and wait for the "trick-or-treaters" and answer the door with the big snakes around our necks LOL
Happy Halloween everyone!

We celebrate Halloween in Switzerland as well, but only since a few years now,but nobody actually knows why we celebrate it,lol.
Can someone tell me what exactly it means? I don't suppose it's something to do with religion!?
