Watching Cops and...

there was a balck snake, about 5 ft long and this chick was sreaming cuz it was in her yard so she called the cops and the cops way of getting the snake out of the yard was spraying mace in its eyes then when the snake didnt leve they clubbed it in the head! And oh no..hitting it in the head the first 5 times wasnt enough...they had to club it a few more times juat to make sure it was dead..then they threw it in the garbage can....now, how many people do you think watch cops every nite? ''OH, whats that? a snake?? OMG lets grab the first blunt object we can find and hit it in the head til it dies!!''...ow why would you do that? '' i saw it on cops''...nice...then the cop says I have alot of experience with snakes...people are so stupid!! and it wasnt just on ecop that hit the snake, they had one mace it an d 2 hit the poor thing was that really necessary? NO

You should look up the show online and send them an email complaining about it... That was completely inhumane and uncalled for!!!

Just when I start to think the world is getting a little bit more comfortable around snakes, some idiot cop has to do something like this and prove me wrong. It never fails to amaze me how ignorant idiots think they're so smart and use authority as a substitute for knowledge (for example, the dumb cop saying "I have a lot of experience with snakes").

I don't want to say which SPCA it was because I know they are overworked and they mean well, but recently an SPCA called our reptile rescue asking if we could take several reptiles in for them. Although they unable to indentify which types of reptiles they had, they were already making the decision which ones needed to be euthanized. Now tell me, how can you know if something is unfit to live if you don't even know what it is???

I saw that too. The complete absence of remorse the cops showed was disturbing even. After the incident, one cop was explaining how they usually spray the snake in the face with mace (how nice ), but in this case, it didn't leave, so there was nothing else they could do. Bullcrap! The lady was screaming like crazy too. Rather, they should have grabbed the harmless snake and relocated it, and then explain to the lady that it was completely harmless, and that it would remove any mice near her home. What was really surprising to me was not that they killed the snake, but that they showed it on tv. If the cops had bashed a puppy to death, I'd like to see them try getting that on the air.

You should write to the SPCA and complain about this episode and animal abuse. Couldn't the show's producers be fined heavily for showing such animal abuse on TV? As well as the cops that perpetrated the abuse?

This is a terrible thing that happened but since you saw the episode you can try to do something positive with it and send letters of complaint to the proper authorities.

That really sucks. My dad, a cop, gets snake calls at least once a month. Even when it is for rattlers, he never clubs or maces them, and he doesn't even like snakes at all. But as a cop he understands that he has a duty to uphold a high moral code (one that doesn't allow things like torturing and killing helpless, harmless animals for no reason), and to prevent panic and ignorance among the people he serves. This cop obviously did not fulfill those duties. Jerk.

I agree with Dee and Tricia - send the producers of the show a complaint and get onto the SPCA - this is animal abuse, and surely is illegal. That's just awful, it's a shame people still think it's acceptable to mistreat certain animals, because they're not as important as us humans you know!

Personally, I would've sprayed that screaming lady with the mace just to give her something to scream about!! GGGRRR

Start writing the letters you guys. Make a difference for that poor snake. He didn't deserve the beating and death he got.
