When I was just on vacation and visited the Oregon Zoo in Portland and I have more snakes in my house than they had in the entire zoo.

You know you're a herper if..............
Your reptiles cages are always cleaner than the house.

You know you're a herper if..............
You've been chased down, more than twice, on remote desert roads by the Border Patrol coming to you at a high rate of speed and the first question you ask them is if they've seen any snakes that night.

You know you're a herper if............
you have to dig through the frozen rats in your freezer to find the steaks.

...your pets dinner requuires care and feeding until it is served

...you think that the curest or the baby mice is when their tail is being slurped down the snakes mouth

...the boys at church know you as "lizard girl" (thats all me)

...all the gifts that you ask for are now alive (other than the audios I want)

...you have a sign taht states "beware of lizard" or "beware of snake"

those are just a few I thought up

... Your Wife Gives You The 3rd Degree For Spending Every Friday And Saturday Night Out Herping And Not Coming Home Drunk From The Bar.

... If you see someone doing a "snake dance" and you run over to save the snake.

... you never go anywhere without a hook, tongs, and bucket in your automobile.

... If you are exeremely shy but run up to someone trying to kill a snake and Yell at them.

... You look in rock cracks instead of the view when you reach an overlook after 4 hours of hiking on the trail.

I did this last week. I found a couple of kids throwing rocks at a bull snake. They thought it was a rattkesnake. I chewed them out and moved the snake away from the road.

you know youre a herper if...
...you are on the surgery table getting ready to have your tonsils out and all you can talk about are your water dragons

...if you can open a section of newspaper to the center page, first try every time
...if you're in-laws refuse to visit because of the 'monster' in the guest room
...the only reason you bought a digital camera is so you can take those 'oh soooo cute' feeding pix
...you've spent hundreds on collared greens and still don't know what they taste like or how to prepare them

and finally

...you lose your python and cry for days, but don't have the least bit of sympathy when you neighbors cats suddenly start going missing, because you take it as a sign that she's still alive!

I fell in that category for a long time. We were at a Restraunt that serves all cajun/southern food and I decided to try them, since I always have them on hand. They are not bad! lol

You know you are a herper when your shopping list includes collared greens, a steak, can of spinach, milk, mayonaise, frozen mice/rats, and a dozen crickets.
