Loose Gator in California

Yup, we have a loose gator in the Los Angeles area *still*. http://www.dailybreeze.com - "Alligator Tales"

Last Tuesday, I was fortunate enough to hang out with the Gatorland folks on the wee lake and help try to spot an alligator. I have no experience with gator trapping so this was fun for me to observe and learn about how to locate the alligator and hear the calls. My little mug with the Gatorland team even made it on the front cover of our local paper -- my teeny weeny head speck

My friend had hoped we'd at least spot, and at best, catch (well, they catch, I watch) the gator that day; he knew that I would have totally enjoyed the experience. Unfort, no gator in sight I thoroughly enjoy any chance to interact with these animals, which doesn't happen too often. Few years back, I was lucky to hold 3-day old Cuban croccies and observe cuban croc training. Now, if I was able to, I'd head to Darwin to volunteer for Adam with freshies; My priority atm tho is helping the cyclura lewisi in Grand Cayman. And besides, lewisi wont eat me

Fun times. With knowledge of how California dictates crocodilians, I can't help but wonder what will happen to the beast once it is caught?

Wow, that was probably really interesting for you- especially if they had caught the gator while you were there. I hope that if they do manage to catch the gator they treat it well.
