Jason, sweet pics! Very inspirational. I love NC in the summer. Us South Floridians need to dodge those afternoon thunderstorms every once in a while, I think today was our 28th consecutive day of T-storms. Can't wait for all those mesquitos.
Those stalactitie(sp?) caves are insane, there is one by my apartment that I went to last year but it was dull grey, any idea as to what mineral causes the color?

Hey! What part of NC were you in? Some of those pictures look like my neck of the woods! I am less than 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great Photos!

Thanks for the comments all
Cody, the guide in those caves was throwing out tons of useful information. Such as the minerals etc... But I was too busy dodgeing cave spiders and looking for salamanders. Did not store any of it. Sorry man.
One neat thing that I did catch was the 'bottomless' pit. This under water hole went down farther than any cable could reach. Was creepy. Also, we did total darkness. Only place to experience this is in a cave as far as we where and under the ocean some distance. A shame I did not listen up, but those salamanders where too cool
Hide Clyde, you are pretty much dead on. We stayed in Boone, NC and drove down the blue ridge almost every other day there. Grandfather mountain is amazeing!

I thought I recognized some of the scenery! When you went to the bottomless pit was it in Lake Lure? That's the only one I know of around here.
