A Frog in a Sassafras Tree!
Look who was snoozing in my little sassafras tree yesterday!![]() ![]() Can someone tell me what kind of frog he is? He's pretty big, about 3 inches more or less, and I love the yellow stripe he has by his mouth.

Great pics Juliane! I belive that is a Squirrel Treefrog (Hyla Squirella) they are pretty common in your area and get thier names from the squirrel like call they make during mating season.

Although squirrel treefrogs are very similar in appearance (Hyla squirella), I believe its a green treefrog (Hyla cinerea). The yellow stripe along the side is more reminiscent of a green, and a large squirrel treefrog will only get abouy 2 inches long, while greens can get nearly 3 inches long. Both species share the same range.

You are so lucky to get such amazing animals in your back gardens!! He's a real cutie, and I've gotta go with Matt, looks like a green treefrog to me.
