Frozen Rodents - Where to Buy?

Sorry in advanced if this is the wrong place to post this, but....

So I've been searching for the best place to purchase rodents at, and I know a lot of people have always said rodentpro.com, but the inconvenience with them is the fact that no matter what you buy, you pay a standard 50 dollar fee for shipping (which with my budget and needs comes out to the same price as how much the rodents cost). So I did a little research this evening and found a site someone recommended on Yahoo Answers. Now I know that Yahoo Answers isnt the best place to get good answers from, but someone sent a link to this site:

    Big Cheese Rodent Factory

At first look, the whole site/business seems questionable, but the prices is what catch my eye. Per rodent, its about .05 cent cheaper on average, but that wasnt what caught my eye. Shipping is what got my interest, their stating that they will not charge for a one sized box like their competitors (Rodentpro??) do and have many sizes and shipping options available. I was hoping to get an idea from other herp lovers here on the site to see if anyone else has used them (good or bad).

I haven't heard anything bad about them other than they can sometimes be slow to fill your order. I have actually considered ordering from them in the past but find their unprofessional website hard to swallow.

their stating that they will not charge for a one sized box like their competitors (Rodentpro??) do and have many sizes and shipping options available.
This is deceptive. It isn't the size of the box that is the extra shipping cost, its the weight of the block of dry ice that keeps your feeders from thawing in transit. I suggest that you email them for a quote and find out.
I emailed them an order I had made to RP for a quote and they actually came out higher.
I do not like the fact that you can't just get on the website and find out what your cost would be without contacting them.

I use RodentPro and even though I agree that the shipping is high, I understand why that is because of the packaging. After using them for a few years now I'm happy to pay that cost since they do a really good job of packaging the stuff so it doesn't thaw during shipping and arrives at my door in great condition. I only buy mice since that's all I need but the box usually has the dry ice in the bottom with the sealed bag of mice ontop and it's all wrapped up and taped inside layers. All inside the cardboard box.

I've heard of this other place just through the forums here but have never used them so can't say.

I think I will go ahead and Compare quotes, and just wait till I have a little more money to work with before making an order. I know typically the closer you get to filling a box at rodentpro, the more of a bargain you get, so I will wait till I cant afford to do a larger order and then see where the money takes me. Thanks everyone for the help.

You probably don't need to order nearly what I do. That dry ice makes a huge difference. I tried to get a few herp buddies together on a bunch. They never followed through but it could have cut some of the shipping cost.

Now I purchase about 600-700 rodents and quail at a time and shipping costs seem like nothing in the big picture.

I don't price check anymore but had always found RP to be the better deal.
