Sometimes I Hate Living in a Farming Community

Barn yard animals for rodeo barn yard scramble - Grande Prairie Livestock For Sale - Kijiji Grande Prairie

    This ad breaks my heart
This is what I emailed to them. I hope it has some effect...

Hi, I was wondering what rodeo this was going to be at so I can contact the Alberta SPCA to shut this event down. Allowing kids to just randomly pick a new pet like this is very unethical. Animals should never just be given away like this. Some of these animals require a lot of work, time and money to raise right. Not every parent out there is willing to help their child give their pets the best care possible. What are you going to say to the child who catches a goat who lives in an apartment? This is just going to end up causing a lot of unwanted and dead animals. Please reconsider! Thank you Susan Jensen

People make me sick, calves, ponys, chicks, rabbits, ducklings etc all together being chased by young kids is going to kill atleast some of them...

That is terrible. Is there any way to get that ad removed from that site for ethical reasons? Maybe if nobody donates their animals they won't be able to host the event. Hopefully nobody will give them animals anyways. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this is a recipe for disaster.

    His response :
This is not a new event it is held at many rodeos and events. Waivers must be signed by parents before kids go in event. I am quite sure that if someone lives in an apartment their kids will not be entering event( common sense). Been doing this for years and will continue. No harm is come to any of the animals. Do what you have to do but we know this event is allowed at rodeos. Thanks for your reply

I have seen parents consent to some pretty stupid things.
