Disgusted!!

I am just sickened by the attitudes in my local area! This is so wrong on so many levels. I know people are naturally distrustful of reptiles, but I think this is just going to far..

Are snakes not allowed or is there a certain size they can't go over or certain breeds that are not allowed?
Hopefully they won't euthanize them

The article states there is a law that requires snakes that can potentially reach lengths of 10 feet or more to be registered with the humane society. That in and of itself seems rather reasonable to me. What really irritated me was the fact that this guy called the authorities to report an escape; just being a good citizen. And as a result he gets a handfull of snakes taken away from him by someone who hates them and is probably going to end up euthenizing them .

It also says they confinscated ball pythons. I'm no python expert, but i'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find a 10 foot ball python lol.

This is some seriously messed up stuff.

I fear these situations are going to become more common. It sounds very byist to me! Some one who hates snakes leading the investigation.

You have the right to be disgusted, but unfortunately these idiots will continue this sort of ***T until stopped, and as most people don't want to get involved as the pets are neither fluffy nor cuddly, and PETA and HSUS have BIIIIIIGGG dollars, these laws are going to continue to get passed.

And yes, you can see it's biased when the Humane Society whatever-he-is ADMITS to hating snakes!!! Nine in their care, and he's going to "continue confiscating them" even though "they are not set up for this"!!! WT*?!???!

Yeah, just messed up completely. And who has to suffer for this idiot and this stupid law...the snakes.

BTW, if there IS a 10' ball python, I'd sure as h*** LOVE and WANT to see a PICTURE OF IT!!!!!!

Where is this? I want to make sure I never live there near these stupid people.

Same where is this "10 Inch" Ball Python. I am so glad i live in NY where BPs are actully excluded form the reptile ban due to people protesting them being on the list.

The county ordinance ( I called to find out so I would know for sure) states that any venomous reptile or snake that reaches a length of 10 feet or more requires special permits to own. The HS has informed the owners that their animals will not be returned and will be put down. Even the balls, which fall well under the restricted size. I can't tell you how sick and angry this whole thing makes me!!

This is how I feel exactly! This county is so corrupt, but I never imagined it would go this far. If they were dogs the owners would be fined at most and allowed to keep their animals as long as they got the proper registrations.
