I'm in shock!

I know this shouldn't be posted here, but I just got to know that my boss had a stroke, and I'm absolutely shocked and close to tears,I had to tell someone.
He's fine so far,he had the stroke on Saturday and nobody told me!!But visitors are still not allowed;what does it mean??!
He's only 49!! Please pray for him.
Should I feel bad because I fear for my job? I feel really guilty for thinking about myself;do you think it's wrong?
I just don't know what to do! He's the greatest and sweetest boss I ever had and I know his family well.
His negativ side is that he smokes too much and drinks too much black coffee and he was always in stress at work! I just saw it coming that one day it will happen, but so soon?!

Gosh, 49 is so young to have a stroke! I'll keep him in my prayers. Don't feel bad because you're worrying about your job. It's only natural since your future could be greatly affected. I hope everything turns out ok.

Not that this will help any, but I was diagnosed with cancer at 31. During chemotherapy I missed too much work and my job fired me. Its been 5 months and im still unemployed. My unemployment runs out next month. Life ****s.

Thanks everybody!
I had a talk with his wife tonight and it's not as bad as it sounds. It was a light brain stroke, but thank God he is not paralized and he can talk again. He stayes in hospital 'til the end of this week, and then slowly starts to work again, but not too much as before!!

I hope he and his family can make that trip to America next month for three weeks. They haven't been on holyday for 10 years!
Thanks again for your kind thoughts!

Dear ITURNROCKS,

What does it say about a company who fire's a worker due to cancer treatment. I am a shop steward for the Teamsters union, and if I am not mistaken, your firing may be illegal, as I think that you would fall under the "'American Disabillity Act" or the "Family Leave Act". Please consult a lawyer.

The company had 11 employees. FMLA applies to companies with 50 or more employees and the ADA applies to companies with 15 or more.

At first I understood the strain my absence had on the company, but later after talking to other employees, I found out my boss was just a *******.
