If only you guys dealt in birds as well...

i recently bought another pet. She is a Maroon Bellied COnure (a small parrot).

now, in need of some help, i searched for a conure forum, or a bird one, a forum that would hopefully have SOME people with some info. Well, I did find one, however I definatly took for granted just how nice and polite and helpfull you guys are on here. I must say, this is one of the best forums I have ever found.

Its not that the other one is full of meanies, its that they just dont listen to what I am saying before they start telling me what I am doing wrong... and of corse I have done something wrong, always... It's never an understandable mistake... no no no... i should have known better and shame on me for not knowing that!

anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for being so kind and helpfull always. And maybe you can start a conure thread =D hehe, not really on topic with the site... ahh, gotta try where I can lol

Thanks again

My undle has a umbrella cockatoo and you can hear it all the way in the yard! I am not sure if they are as loud as what you are talking about though

We had a greencheek conure that we loved, but he was loud, and greencheeks are supposed to be the quietest conures! He used to scream my daughter's name every time she left the room. He was definitely her bird! We miss him a lot...had to give him away due to my son's asthma which was especially sensitive to birds But on a positive note, if we hadn't had to get rid of our birds and look for hypoallergenic pets, we might never have discovered the wonderful world of reptiles!

You're right about this forum...it's the nicest one on the web!

I have recently gotten into birds as well, and looked into adopting a conure, but decided that it would be too noisy for my apartment. I'm keeping finches (feeders for the chondro once they start breeding) and parakeets, and am looking into adopting an older pair of cockatiels.

If you find a good bird forum, let me know!

Cool, you finally got that conure huh Panda Did you raise all the money to pay for all of it, or did you have to contribute some as well?

My uncle has two Hyasent Macaws ( I'm sure I spelled their names wrong) and I have heard them make a horrible racket but when one went up to a door knob and crushed it kind of set me back a bit! I don't mean dented---crushed! They live so long that he has set it up that when he dies I have to imediately fly there and take them home. I had to promise not to even go to the funeral, but to see to their well being first. These guys are about as big as my five year old child. In fact come to think about it they may very well out live me as well!
