How much do they cost in your city/country?
Hi!
Following the replies to my yesterday's post, I called a few pet stores today and asked price and availability of Leopard Geckos and Bearded Dragons.
Just out of curiosity, I would like to know how much do these species cost in your country.
I know price is regulated by market offer and demand but these prices seem way to high. I called pet stores in the 3 major cities here in Portugal and here are the prices:
Leopard gecko: around $130 USD
Bearded Dragon: between $160 and $235 USD
Green iguanas: around $65 USD

I wish Iguanas would sell for that much here....
You can get green iguanas (well in the pet stores I frequent in Massachusetts) for anywhere from $10 to $20.
Leopard geckos run somewhere in the vicinity of $25 for babies to maybe $80 for adults
Bearded Dragons run from $50 to $300 depending on age etc...

We pay about £35.00 which makes it about $70.00 USD for a leopard gecko
and £50.00 for a bearded which makes that about $95.00 USD, them prices you have seem way high....

around here you would be paying this at a petshop:
$20 dollars for a green iggy
$15-20 for a baby leopard,$50-100 for an adult
$100 for a baby bearded,$150-200 for an adult
at an expo:
green iggys can be adopted for free
$10 dollars for baby leopards,$15-35 for juviniles,$35 and up for adults
$15-25 dollars for baby bearded,$50 and up for adults

A lot of the price will also depend on whether or not it is a designer morph or a wild type
Green iguanas (babies) range from 8-20 dollars
Bearded dragons from $50 on up.
Leopard Geckos start about $15

Seems that in country terms, I'm in the wrong side of the stick =(
Do you think stores get their "supplies" from local (or national) breeders or can they be sent safely by airmail?
