sweaty T-Shirt in terrarium??!??!

I just read in a German forum that a guy put his sweaty T-shirt inside his terrarium,to get his snake used to him and his smell quicker.Good or bad idea, what do you think?

Thats a very common practice, particularly when dealing with aggressive animals. It allows the animal to associate your scent as being a normal part of its environment.

I've tried it. I think the biggest thing with a defensive striking snake is to let them know that that particular smell is no threat.
ps. I moved this to general discussion for you.

Works particularily well with other animals too, like new rats that aren't used to you yet. Or, if they are used to and attached to you, works well to keep them from getting too lonely if you leave for a long epriod of time

I did it jacky with my BP, I used to leave one of my old T-shirts in with him that hadnt been washed, he was a bit strikey when I first got him, now he's ok with me, just hates my BF, will even jump off my knee to attack him lol I think one of Chris's T-Shirts would send him into a wild frenzie
