What can I get?
Hi all,
This may seem like a dumb question and I am almost certain of the answer but the question is:
I have an empty 2.5 gallon aquarium, just sitting around, and I want to utilize it. Is there any kind of herp, frog, small lizard, or anything of the sort that I don't know about that I could put in it? It already has a mesh top for ventalation.
Thanks, David

you should be able to keep one african dwarf frog in it, the requirements it a gallon perfrog, i kept 2 in a five gallon so I would keep only one in your tank if you get one make sure you get a dwarf and not a clawed petstores often called claweds golden dwarfs and other similar names but
Dwarfs have
webbed front feet
are never albino
and their eyes are more on the side of their heads
Claweds
dont have webbed front feet
their eyes are more to the top of their head
when I get a chance i'll find a good webpage I saved have someplace about them

Hello,
Thats a very small enclosure, and an even tougher question! I honestly am unaware of any herp that could comfortably reside in a tank that small. I also don't know how you would be able to create a heat gradient in an enclosure that small.
If you want to put SOMETHING in it,how about a Beta? I know it isn't a reptile, but they are colorful and attractive!

fire-bellied newt, yay or nay? I'm also up for any type of fish but the tank won't have any pumping on it, so I'm not sure. Maybe it'll just be my holding tank for food when I get my Ball Python.

Bettas breath atmospheric air so a pump is not required. As long as you keep the water quality good.

I used to breed bettas they are gorgeous. And if you want to really see them show off hold a mirror up to the tank!
