I'd like to tell you all a story.

This is a story about Wilson, the Bearded Dragon. Wilson was a happy bearded dragon, eating his greens and hunting his crickets. Finally, a customer decided he wanted him. Unfortunately, he lived in Iowa where there was record lows and snowed almost every day. However, the customer insisted upon having Wilson the Dragon as soon as he could.

I make poker tables for a living and we used high-density, 1" polypropylene foam on the tables. I thought it'd be a great way to trap heat, far better than styrofoam. So I lined Wilson's box with this foam and shipped 'em off to his new home on Tuesday, January 11th via USPS overnight express. I was informed he would arrive there the day after but the guaranteed delivery time was the 13th.

He was not there the 12th. Nor did he arrive on the guaranteed delivery date the 13th. I was going crazy, calling USPS, always on the tracking website. My customer was doing the same. Wilson was nowhere to be found. Surely, he must be in dire straights!

Wilson did not show up the 14th. He was still nowhere to be found. My poor bearded dragon had succumbed to the cold, for sure. I had sent my wonderful Wilson not to his new name, but to his death. What kind of horrible would ever allow such a travesty to happen to their pet?

Finally, on Saturday, 4 days after Wilson had been shipped off, the post office in Des Moines, Iowa called the customer to inform him that Wilson had arrived. He rushed there, an hour drive. Upon arrival he opened the box...

Wilson's head popped out! He was still alive! In fact, according to accounts, the box was still warm! My miracle foam saved poor Wilson's life.

I told you this story for two reasons.. One, to tell you a tale of a bearded dragon determined to find his new, final open. Second, to give everyone a chance to take a look at my great boxes! Pictures are available soon. Repti-packs by ReptileHabitat

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to read my story.

That truly is a great story. I'll have to tell "Zag" aka Wilson. He's doing great and is spoiled rotten. I had him out yesterday and let him discover his new home, and seems to like it. I will post pics as soon as I upload them. I've never been the one to advertise or refer products or people, but this experience changed my views. Not only did I get a wonderful bearded dragon but a friend as well. I think the box had a big part in the survival of Zag and they are worth a try. I want to thank Jay, Steel and all of the people who were in the chatroom when I got home with Zag. Your kindness and caring when it comes to reptiles is wonderful. Thank You!!! Thank You Nick. Light the grill!!
