OK - want a funny story? As I said in the other thread - I didn't know what I wanted to do when I got out of college. Moved to Chicago to be with my college sweetheart (I drove here with all my stuff, never having set foot in the city - she dumped me, by the way ). Started going through the want-ads, etc and long story short, got hired as a Customer Service Rep for a company that did "litigation copy support" - basically a copy company for law firms - sort of like Kinko's, but we'd go to the law firm, pick up the job and take it back to our office to have it copied and return it. So that's what I was doing - schlepping copies around downtown Chicago.
Next month will make 14 years with my company. We've grown and were bought by a large corporation, but I have been working in the industry for the same company the whole time. I went from customer service, to sales, to sales management, to running an entire marketplace, into finally into National Account Management, where I am a District Director for the Midwest and Southeast. All this from copies (today it's digital images and related services) - who the heck would have known? And it's still not what I want to do!
Very few people actually set out to be something and then do it - not that this is a good or bad thing, it's just the way things turn out! I believe that there is an expression that "life is not a destination, it's a journey" - I have found this to be entirely true.

I spent 20 years as a retail manager, high stress, long hours and few days off. I recently retired from that to return to school in an effort to become an educator.

I'm in the Air Force stationed in Abilene Texas and I work on the Avionics systems on C-130H's... things like Autopilot and other systems the pilots use to navigate.

I am currently making and selling magnetic therapy jewelry as well as other beaded jewelry which I sell at motorcycle rallies, trade shows, medieval fairs, pretty much anywhere I can get booth space!
But the rallies are the most fun!
