Anyone into Human Medical COnditions?
Just curious..
This morning, I was experiencing a few symptoms I had a few years ago when I obtained a concussion-Alternating numbness (Right side arm and right side of tongue) Intense temporal headache, repetitive vomiting (Two in a row), blurring eye sight and everything I heard seemed so spaced and drawn out. Though these were the same affects I had with a concussion, I do not remember hitting my head. These all were short termed, except I still have a lesser degree of a headache. I figured maybe I hit my head and just dont remember or I made some finked out movement to cause it. I was told these were signs of minor strokes and a few other heart related conditions. I didn't go to the hospital due to I have no insurance, I hate doctors and I pretty much spend what I make on my animals and other things that are needed to be dealt with.
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas what may have caused this.. A relapse?
Thanks,
Zane

I don't do human medicine (aquatic animals) but I do read a lot(some medical journals) and yes those are potential stroke symptoms but you're rather young for that unless you have extenuating circumstances. Additional things to think about: have you eaten anything unusual? have you eaten any shellfish? have you taken any new O/C medications such as a decongestant? any new plants in the house or the yard? do you normally experience migraines? how does the left side of your head feel? do you have a sinus infection or a cold? is there a history of anuerysm, heart disease, or clotting disorders in your family? do you have any friends with EMT or first responder training whom you could have come observe you?

How long did these symptoms last?
Do you have any history of High blood pressure? How long has it been since you last had a head injury?
I can't say anything for sure other than you certainly should see a doctor asap.
My back ground is an athletic therapist and paramedic.
best of luck.

Regardless of insurance or not, u really need to be seen by a physician. You cannot be refused if you go into an emergency room. The numbness and tingling are symptoms as mentioned above. I doubt it is anything u ate. An allergic reaction to shellfish would cause difficutly breathing and possible hives (rash). I would highly recommend being seen by a doctor whether u like them or not. There are alot of people dying younger and younger, known runners healthy dropping in their 30's. Your health is nothing to mess with.

Thanks guys.
Currently I just have the headache. Same pain on both temples. It was around 9 when I started feeling these symptoms and it was around 1130 when I fell asleep.. I know I wasn't pose to but I don't think I had the choice.
The only thing new I experienced today was a new cologne, and last night a new roommate to the obligation of smoking illegals in his room. (I talked him out of doing it again). Other than that and the new A-Zinc Ive been taking for a few weeks, nothing new.
Also, Strokes run through my family, but no one younger than 60.

Hi Zane
My husband is a specialist in Internal medicine and a practicing physician here in Switzerland. I showed him your post. His response:
The symptoms you described are textbook typical of a migraine with neurological symptoms. In this case it is miserable but harmless. Is there a history of migraines in your family? Have you ever had symptoms of headache with nausea before? There are migraine medications OTC but they are usually better effective at the first sign of symptoms. Otherwise you can take some aspirin. A lot of people find the most relief lying still in a darkened room.
You might find more info here: http://nindssearch.ninds.nih.gov/ver...yText=Migraine
My husband did say however, that there is a small chance that the same symptoms could be caused by an aneurysm before it bursts. To diagnose that for sure, you would need to have an MRI with a contrast medium of your brain done.
If the neurological symptoms are gone now and the headache is bearable, it's probably safe to wait. But if any new symptoms start up soon, you really should go to the emergency room.
I hope that helps! Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! (I'll send you the crocodile painting picture in a week or so. Thanks.)
