Herp Doodles
I've been sketching and painting all day and here's what I've done that's herp-related. The first one is a pencil sketch of everybody's favorite leo, since I may paint him, and the second one is a doodle in pen and ink that started as a circle and ended up as somewhat abstract notions of animals associated with knowledge. Enjoy

Very nice! Maybe you could pain the abstract one, too.

Thanks I'm working on another abstract painting at the moment as well as a still life (neither has anything to do with herps). I've always liked to do ink line drawings but I'm not very good at realistic stuff so I figured I'd work on some (i.e Duke) to develop my technique.

I didn't know you were artistic! You should post some pics of your other stuff on here too. I don't think anyone would mind if its not herp-related

Here's a geckoish skinkish pen and ink doodle. Most of my other pieces are a.) old b.) on slides

That last one reminds me of aboriginal rock and cave paintings!

Nice work. I love the pen and ink art. I agree with Merlin: they have a very aboriginal/native art feel. I think the last one would make a great tattoo!
Keep it up! Would love to see more..
PS -- I'm OFTEN told that the realistic stuff isn't art! AND It's only "art" if it comes from your imagination.
I'm not saying I believe that -- especially since I only do the "realistic stuff."
My advice for what it's worth: paint and draw what YOU love and what makes you feel good; then it doesn't matter if it's abstract or realistic -- it's yours and it's original!

With some of the things I have seen labeled as "Art" I wouldn't worry about it too much. People are paying thousands of dollars for paint that is smeared on canvas by elephants and chimpanzees!
Hey there's an idea Heather! Dip Duke's feet in different colored paint and let him have at it! You might make a fortune!
