different wattage heat bulbs

Hi, I have a short and stupid question. I am currently using 75 watts for my heating bulb for my basking spot for my ig. I realized its not giving off enough heat. Will changing to a 150 watt increase the heat or just the brightness? I think I already know the answer to this question but I want to double check.

Just be sure you are using a ceramic/porcelin fixture. The 150 is going to be a bit hot for a regular plastic fixture and I beleive those are only rated for 100 watt bulbs anyway.

Yup, I just bought this new light fixture that hold 2 150 watt heat bulbs with porcelain fixtures and it holds a 24" 20 watt uvb flourescent light.
