Re: Wedding Ideas (with Snakes!)

My mom refers to my BP as her "grandsnake" (she even calls to ask how Sinthia is doing, and could I please send her some pictures???) It was a big joke with her co-workers when I was getting my boa. I was waiting for the mother boa to give birth, and had the cage set up for my baby. My mom was getting excited telling all her co-workers that I was having a baby.

Once I had the boa, she told them I would stop in and visit with my new baby (at the school where she works, I did education programs with my snakes in the younger kids classrooms)

When the people saw the snake, they all gave her such dirty looks, it was great!

Re: Wedding Ideas (with Snakes!)

Oops, I was corrected by previously referred to daughter - it's Greco-Roman, as she likes the Greeks better than the Romans. She is very into Mythology, her one professor used to borrow her books on the subject! We spent the day with foster daughters and granddaughter (3) a pixie if their ever was one! I never get out of the store without buying her something I didn't intend to, I swear the kid just takes control of my mind! The 3 year old is the one who absolutely adores the Tegu. She is now getting to where she wants to hold the parrot and the macaws too! The macaws are a breeding pair who are not very hand tame though.

Re: Wedding Ideas (with Snakes!)

Cockatoos - yikes. They left me with a very bad first impression (and a missing fingernail). I'm great with the rest of our birds though.

Are you going to involve them in the wedding too? Get the whole menagerie together.

Re: Wedding Ideas (with Snakes!)

Parrots and snakes would NOT be a good combination!

Really? Ours is the sweetest ever.
He cuddles with me, hides in my sweatshirt, sits in my lap.
He talks a lot too.

But I don't think snakes and a cockatoo would be a great combination. Not to mention, it's more animals we have to transport after the ceremony.
The thought did cross my mind, though.

Whoa! I'm thinking this would be a great shindig to crash!

I have a camera and I'm not a bad photographer either -- I could be the 'animal' photographer, in case your other one is squeemish
