My local pet shop had health in yesterday, and passed with flying colours, apart from one thing, they told her she had to get UV lighting for her snakes, apparently its one of the rules of regulation here, I have never heard this before, where would I find more info about it?

I've heard about that being a common misconception in Europe before when I've read various petitions. Snakes don't need UV but lawmakers and animal rights actvists don't know that.

This is another classic case of people passing laws regarding subjects they know absolutely nothing about.
Snakes in general do not need UV lighting.
