This post is a few weeks late as I have been tending to my granfather who is very sick in hospital.

2 years ago, I logged on to HC to read the saddest post my time here has ever brought. Rich had to break the news that we had lost our fellow herper, Fran.

I didn't know Fran long, and only through the internet, but he was a real gent and one of life's true wonders.

2 years has gone so quickly and reading back over the post, I still can't help but envision him caring for all the reptiles passed before and after him over the rainbow bridge.

So, I shall raise a glass this weekend to Fran and his memory and I know wherever he is, he is smiling down on the reptiles of the world

This will certainly stir some memories up in those that were here long enough to remember Fran. Fran passed on June 1, 2006. He was one of our staff and helped launch HC. If Fran were still with us today, he and Merlin would have a battle going for the highest post count on HC. Fran was always willing to offer his advice and share his stories. I can certainly join in and raise my glass to him.

Amen! to that Rich - Fran was never afraid to offer the best possible advice that he had and with his knowledge, members couldn't go far wrong than to take on board his views

I looked back at his pic that you posted on the original thread and still find tears in my eyes. Not only because Fran is sadly missed, but also because he is so like my Grandfather who is very sick right now also.

I wonder has Fran reached his reptile goal on the Rainbow bridge

He was a great asset to the site, and the reptile community in general!

I remember one time where Rich , Fran and myself did a voice conference on yahoo cause his "super mod" powers werent working, lol. He was a hoot to talk to and a frantastic person

The only way I knew Fran was through HC just online. We never talked or anything but I read many of his posts. He was a great guy. I'm shocked that its been 2 years already.

I had known Fran for quite a while before he ever joined HC. He was one of the finest herpers I have ever known as well as a dear friend.
I am glad to see this to keep his memory alive.
