Re: The New Discovery of Species

New species are found even when the rainforests are not being destroyed. Rainforest destruction however does force animals to relocate themselves, and that can help with finding them.

There are new discoveries made regularly. In fact, just the other day I was reading about how someone had located a tribe (people) in the jungle that no one knew existed.

I was fascinated to read about that too! Can you imagine how scarey it must be for them when the planes are hovering over their community!

Re: The New Discovery of Species

It was scary enough that in one set of pictures, the tribes people were aiming their bow and arrows to the sky prepared for battle!

Without any contact to the rest of the world, that plane was an alien invader. Most of the gadgets and gizmos we use would freak them out.

Indeed! As hard as it is to believe there are parts of our world where civilized man has never set foot.
There are even areas in the USA where no one has been.

With regard to the recently discovered tribe, I hope its not just another hoax!
There was a big deal a few years ago about this supposed stone_aged tribe that was "discovered" and was all over the news.
This lasted until another source showed up with pictures of some of those same tribesmen wearing shorts and T shirts in a neighboring village!
The "discoverer" had fabricated the whole thing and paid villagers from neighboring tribes to play the part of the supposed discovered tribe!

Re: The New Discovery of Species

That truly was amazing about the tribe of people. I saw the pictures with the bows and arrows, too. To be such an "advanced world" (and I use that term loosely) it completely amazed me that there was still man out there completely untouched and beautifully simplified in our world of chaos.

Re: The New Discovery of Species

Good post Brendon,

Ha, you think it would take a plane to freak out an untouched tribe of people... think of the simplest thing... How about fire from a simple lighter or book of matches even? I would hate to think if the village people would be angry or impressed by such things.

I guess a good way to see if the local witch Dr. is worried about his job security... lol

You might just be surprised. While you are trying to woo the witch doctor with your disposable lighter, His assistant is calling the insane asylum on his SATphone to come pick your crazy ...

Poof, the hoax was yet again revealed. This is a tribe, and they are remote, but they have been known about since 1910. The "hoax" was being pulled to draw attention to logging in that region.

I figured I would keep everyone up to date.
