Merlin, Merlin, Merlin; another couch (nearly) subjected to needless abuse, man o man, there are way too many of those. If the care of your sofa is so difficult and you are unable to give it proper housing conditions I will gladly adopt it and give it a good home...

Seriously though,
Even with muscular legs of an ig the leash is not like that for a dog. You can't really hold back or stop a determined adult lizard, but you can use it to slow them down. I use one like a tail extension where the lead is made of birght colored string (say 10 meters / 30 feet worth) so I have something to look for and lead me to my ig. In the case where a lizard takes off up a tree a leash will be of no help.

Lmao Mark!
Actually I have used my hip lead to restrain Zok and stop her from going somewhere I didn't want her to go. It usually will result in a croc roll but it keeps her from getting lost or injured.

I have tested it with Bob a few times, while it held him back in the middle of the lawn I don't think I will trust it much further. Think about if an adult ig got in a bush or something with great grip.

Better to err on the side of caution and depend on the leash only as a backup rather than a possible teather like people use with a dog. But it would be great for the case you just experienced. Whenever outside these are good tools, luckely I have not had to use mine -- but I do have an ID tag on it engraved with "Bob" and my phone numbers.

What does Zok think of this little misfit sitting infront of her cage while you tore the room apart?

Oh I quite agree! It is merely a safety device. I would NEVER recommend that someone use it to just tie the iguana up and leave it!
