If anyone receives any PM spam, please forward me a copy of it. I just banned a user who was trying to advertise her website through the private message system. She was very polite and said she was new, and was just saying hello. She had a buddhist signature attached, and a link to an advertising page she pretended was her website.

She went by Patricia2.

Several users got this PM, and every one of the PM's was the same. She was copying and pasting the pre-written PM.

If anyone else gets any of these suspicious types of PM, please contact me with the users name and forward me the message.

Everyone who did receive one will find it has disappeared. I removed all PM's sent by this user, and added their website to our sites censors.

Spammers are scum and they are not welcome here.

Yeah, There was someone else months ago who was pm'ing people about buddhism. They had zero posts in the forums. I guess there's all kinds of ways to work the net if you have an agenda.

I have many safeguards in place to prevent the flood of spam from "bots". Unfortunantly, I don't have a means to stop real humans before they start spamming. Hence why I ask for reports from members when they get something silly like that.

That other user also got banned Greg. The sweet thing is, they leave me a URL to censor. I add the URL of the spammer to our sites censor list. If someone actually had a legit reason to use one of the url's in the future via a post, they can't. lol
