I was wondering how to go about getting a degree in herpetology. I talked to someone who has one but I don't know what type of degree this is and really didn't understand what he told me. He said something about going into basic biology and focusing on herpetology.

I've seen this question before and I believe it's not as easy as that. There doesn't seem to be too many universities as I understand it, that have a Herpetology path to take. Biology would undoubtedly be the place to begin.

There is no real degree in herpetology. Thats the way I've understood it for many years. The ways to go would be biology or zoology that specialize in reptiles and such.
