Re: The Danger of Doing Research
I've already warned Brett that as soon as we get settled into a house that we WILL have a room devoted to reptiles. i thought it was bad before I started coming to this site often, but now there is SO MUCH that I want that I know its just not possible!

Re: The Danger of Doing Research
I've got tanks in every room now including the kitchen. I originally tried to keep them in one "Reptile Room" but I don't want to have my electrical outlets to overload and burn my house down. I've got seven individual herps in seven tanks. Then I have two aquariums on top of that.
And Oh boy! Do I ever have those "If I won the lottery" fantasies!
In the end a Sav is a lot nicer than an Ig. I have both, among others.

Re: The Danger of Doing Research
Self control is defenantly something I'm going to have to learn before I move out of my parents house or else I'll over my head in pet bills and deprived animals. I just realized how many people are just like me; you find a different animal you want every week, but don't ever seem to have the time, space, or money. I find it strange how my love for herps could be the greatest aspect of my life or if I'm not careful it could decieve me and leave me in debt.

Re: The Danger of Doing Research
monitors are great for rubbish disposal, mice / rats that your snakes didn't eat all go to my spencers monitor, eats anything....but the massive amount of heating he requires is sending my wife nuts when the power bill arrives...

I'm just saying a sav is a little more easy going while handling. Igs are a lot more high strung.

Re: The Danger of Doing Research
I dont know, all the monitors I have ever gotten in here were mean as snot, and makes some of my really mean iggys look like babies to handle, lol. But then again these are animals that have been raised by someone else, who knows how, and treated who knows how, so I really am not one to judge as I have never had my "own" monitor raised by me.
