yeah, that is stupidity at its best once again, lol. I myself would have called when I saw it in the dogs bed. I would not have waited three days. But, once again this gets national news because it ate a dog the size of a large rat, only because the owners of the dog waited three days before calling. Lucky it was not the kids it wanted.

Re: Read This :(

I just keep thinking back to the mental picture of, if the snake killed the dog right in front of the kids, they were close enough to be in danger too... Why would a parent even let their kids out with the dog when they knew the snake was after it????

And if they KNEW they snake was present and stalking the dog, why wasn't something done.
This situation is really a no brainer! If you have a predator that routinely comes around your dog and children its time to take action!

Re: Read This :(

I totally agree with all the posts regarding concern for the children. It does sound like stupid parenting as well as just flat out stupidity. Although I gotta admit I don't like those dogs.

Sorry if I offend any owners of those little yapperss. I have a neighbor with a couple of unattended, untrained, undisciplined similar things. Makes me wish I was into snakes some times. A little sarcasms here.

Re: Read This :(

Heh, maybe the parents were hoping the dog would get eaten. I could see it...

Kid- "Dad, can we get this dog? Pleeaassse?"
*Dad gets the kids a small "yappy dog", which he instantly regrets*

Much later a giant python stalks the dog, dad waits for it to eat the dog, THEN calls the authorities. lol. I have nothing against the dog, I love dogs (even the small yappy ones), but I know a LOT of people who don't

It's nice that they let the python go back in the wild, instead of killing it just because it ate a dog. If you ask me, dogs are just as much fair game as a wallaby. The only difference is if you want to, you can do more to keep your own dog alive than a random wallaby. Kind of a "Well the pythons live there too, it happens" situation.

Re: Read This :(

thats why I posted the link...it wrong on so many levels! I do feel bad for the kids though...having to see their family dog get eaten and all..
The parents dont sound very smart that would be my first priority the safety of my kids!
I am glad that they released the snake.

Hey, It's all good! I just asked a simple question. And in the end I knew you were being sarcastic.
I'm just one of those "Dog Lovers". You know, Those people that the Micheal Vick fans love to HATE. If I had to choose, I'd take the life of the dog over the life of the snake. If it had eaten my dog, It would not be resting at the zoo digesting its meal.
