reptiles in movies:)

Here is hopefully something fun for a weekend forum!
Maybe its cause I'm so darned sick with this cold that I thought of this but...
I hate/think its halarious how reptiles are portrayed in the movies. Usually horror movies.
I wanted everyone to post their most cheesy/loved movies with reptiles.
Feel free to post about other inverts/mammels ect.
I can think of some to get it started...
I remember when the movie "Anaconda" came out @ the time I owned 4 snakes and I thought it was unbelievable. I remember something about the first paragraph saying something like, "The only living thing that only lives to breed and eat" or something like that haha! And that it would regurgitate to do it again lmao

The movie "Lake Placid" just watching Betty White feeding the babies at the end that will come to eat everyone again!
Here's an oldie but a cheesy it was called "Sssssssss" it was about a mad scientist who injected his lackey with some kind of serum that turned him into a king cobra in the end with his g/f screaming in horror (of course) lmao
I remember being just like 8 or 9 years old and my little brother was screaming
and all I could think was "How cool would it be to be a king cobra!"
Well thats the ones I can think off the top of my head~~~have fun posting!

Re: reptiles in movies:)

We've always had a good laugh at some of those movies, but we have also run into a lot of people who believe what they see there. We love some of the tv shows that have stupid things on too. Some of the people who bring animals on talk shows do a lot more harm than good, because of the way they act and the things they do. There are others though that bring animals and actually provide useful knowledge.
For our Halloween parties, we have some movies like Anaconda, The Snake People, Frogs, Slither, and some other goodies.

I would have to say the best moment for me was seeing Vega$ cross the big screen in a short film at the San Diego Asian Film Festival back in the early 2000s.

Iguana Love

I'm still hoping to get a hold of a copy of the short!

Re: reptiles in movies:)

I liked the Bearded Dragons in the movie holes they were painted with non toxic childrens paint to make them colorful... I also liked the bull snake/rattle snake... One min its a bull, next, when it bites its a rattler... New breed? Magic? I was puzzled and played the part frame by frame.... and I couldnt help but to go oh how cute bearded dragons! And as my boyfriends son says "Char they arnt bearded dragons! They are venomous lizards that are going to bite the kids if they are bad" What I wouldnt give for a bearded dragon and all my kids to think that LOL No im just kidding....

And snakes on a plane. Loved it! Picked that movie into so many peices, thought my boyfriend was going to cry (Samuel L jackson fan) Loved the corn snake with fangs! I watch it out of bordome, just to pick apart the movie and find other snakes they screwed up on...

Then I like the cheesy movie about a giant snake in the woods because air makes it grow and someone broke the jar it was in and they mesure the shed (ugh) and find out its like 50ft long or something... and they cant kill it cause its a super snake, so someone has to get eaten by it and cut its heart out (i root for the snake of course) and it can eat a human in one gulp (someone help me now lol)

Im not allowed to rent movies that have anything to do with reptiles anymore... The boyfriend gets sick of me pickin apart the movies...

Re: reptiles in movies:)

I remember seeing my first free roaming iguana in the movie "terminator" I think it was the roommates...right before Arnold killed her LOL
I agree with the other poster that said sometimes it detrimental when tv shows have animals on them ~~some of the advice is just downright wrong.

Re: reptiles in movies:)

I think I can take the prize!
For my birthday a friend of mine brought me a disc of a movie called Snakes On A Train!
Yes,.... TRAIN!
This has got to go down in history as one of, if not THE Worst movies I have ever seen in my life.
Basic synopsis. Woman stowed away on a train accompanied by some sort of apprentice shaman, has snakes inside her body. They periodically come crawling out her mouth accompanied by copious quantities of nasty looking fluid. The shaman keeps catching them and putting them in jars but some of them get away and go into other people, who they eat from the inside out. Just crawl right thru the skin!! The funny part is the snakes coming out are garter snakes and then they grow up into ball pythons. Sice BPs move so slowly they speed the film up so that they are lunging at people. Oh they also rattle like a rattle snake, stand up on their tails, and leap over distances to bite people in the neck.
But the kicker at the end is the woman actually turns into a giant snake and starting at the caboose of the train, starts swallowing the train as it is going down the tracks! Accompanied by a nice sound of metal crunching of course!
I kept watching the movie, thinking to myself it had to get better!
It didn't!
Geez talk about a waste of a perfectly good evening!
