So Excited!!!

Went to the local pet store today, one of the owners showed me they had baby red ear sliders in. HOW CUTE! I used to have about 8 turtles, 6red ear sliders, a painted turtle and a baby snapper (dont have any now). But anyway, i got to hold one! so that was too exciting... then she asked me if I liked snakes... So she brought me to the back and showed me this tiny little (foot long) Corn snake... It was in the back b/c a girl seen it and ran out screaming... So anyway, she let me hold it too!!! My first holding of a snake! IT WAS AWESOME. i so would've bought it, but I can't afford a snake right now... soon soon soon though.. it was beautiful... Just wanted to share my experiance...

Just holding a snake amazes me every time. It feels so unreal with their muscle movements...and the way they eat, breathe and.....Ok, maybe I'm weird!! lol
I'm glad you got to hold one.
Save your pennies for a cage and stuff before you even think about what kind of snake to buy. Trust me, you will change your mind a million times until that one little guy grabs your heart and you just GOTTA buy it!

So we were thinking of eventually getting a snake.. and this guy was AWESOME. he felt like silk between my fingers, he tried to crawl into my coat and everything. way exciting for me...

Yes snakes can really grow on you. I find handling them to be very soothing and relaxing.

Not at all! It was the way they move that caught my attention as a child! Sort of flowing like a length of solid water.

LOL! Calm DOWN Jem! You already HAVE one! A "red ratsnake" is another common name for a normal cornsnake!

For a pet shop price it isn't too bad.
I have seen them at herpshows (hatchlings) for 10 bucks!
