Herp Dreams

Anybody ever have dreams about their pets?

I regularly seem to have anxiety dreams about my fish--I walk up to their tank, and I find some huge monster fish or something that I didn't know was in there and it's eating all my sweet little babies, but it's so huge and vicious I don't know what to do with it or how to handle it. Last night I dreamt that three of my favorite fish were dying of some mysterious disease and Kaliska, my most favorite fish, was trying to eat them...

Now, I've been researching venomous snakes--not because I care to own one just yet (maybe in a few years...maybe), but simply because I think they're really cool--and now I've been having dreams about them! So far, I've dreamt about finding several huge diamondback rattlesnakes hiding in my garage, and I've had two consecutive dreams about a Gaboon viper and a cobra I took home during some random stroke of insanity getting loose in my room, and I was desperately trying to find them, but had no way of catching them without getting bitten, all the while I was trying to keep my pet cat from sneaking into the room.

Very interesting...

For what its worth from an armchair psychologist,....
Sounds like your subconcious mind is making evident your worries and concerns. You worry about your fish and something happening to them that you can't control.
As for the venomous snakes,..
I think your dreamtime mind is expressing your fears and all the myriad things that could happen should you choose to walk that route. Perhaps its YOU telling YOU that YOU really don't want to go that direction.
Thats my interpretation anyways.
This and a buck will get you a cup of coffee! LOL!

"This and a buck will get you a cup of coffee! LOL!"

Given the price of a cup of coffee these days, that makes your analysis reasonably valuable, Merlin!

Yeah. The only thing that fascinates me more that toxins are octopuses. But still, when you learn how some of those toxins work, the idea of something with a mind of its own possessing the ability to inject you, if you're not careful, with those very venoms should it decide you're a threat is rather scary; the only other option would be a venomoid, and that's really not an option at all.

Amy's right, too...might be cheaper just to make an appointment for a psychiatrist considering the price of coffee these days.

Re: Herp Dreams

My lizards show up in my dreams from time to time, I can't hardly remember any of them though.

Nope, mine are always about snakes, lol. Last time I had put my head on my desk at work for a quick nap, I squeeled like a girl and woke up because a boa had bitten my knee, lol.

Re: Herp Dreams

The only dreams I've had are the ones where I buy herps that I can't afford to yet.

Re: Herp Dreams

I have anxiety dreams about the frogs. Probably related to building the new enclosure. I'm sure they will pass.

Re: Herp Dreams

If one of my pets gets sick, I have extreme guilt dreams - where either the animal dies of something horrible, or where they're angry at me and attacking me. It's worse after one of them dies.

Actually I had a nice creepy dream last night about snakes and Native Americans - all set to tense music from a movie. I'm not really sure what triggered that one, actually. I don't have any snakes.
