rescue pays vet bills?
okay I think I have heard it all now, lol. I just got off the phone with someone who has a sick snake, sounds like respitory infection, heres the kicker, they wanted me to pay the vet bills, since I am a rescue they assumed that I should do that and was quite offended when I told them I did not do that. So I guess I was supposed to pay their vet bills for their snake and pull their fat out of the fire.
I was nice and tried to explain that I am not a non profit but out of pocket and my funds were not there to help them out, but no that was not good enough, they were furious and stated and I quote "i bet you if I handed my snake over to you, you would pay the vet bills I stated I would not as I do not have the room to take your snake, I am sorry I cannot be of more assistance. I started to tell them to raise the temps in the tank but they called me a B**** and hung up
people GRRRRR...... So there lack of planning and money is supposed to be my fault?

Re: rescue pays vet bills?
What? They have to be responsible for their own animals? Incredible.
I wonder if they call local day cares to pay for doctor's visits for their kids.

Re: rescue pays vet bills?
I wish someone would call me and ask me to pay their vet bills! lol (This doesn't mean any of the staff should call me and ask me to pay their vet bills. Yes, they have my number and I have theirs.)
I think I would be forced to open up a can of "Here's Your Sign".

Re: rescue pays vet bills?
You'd be amazed the things that people expect out of a vet assistant.....I probably get 3 calls a week from people too cheap to bring in a seriously ill pet wanting to know of i'll give them an over the phone diagnosis AND cure for whatever ails their pets, from fleas to parvo to cancer!
If it was that easy i'd be out of a job!
