Out for my morning walk this morning, I came across a pair of twenty-somethings heaving a concrete block at a snake. When I asked what they were doing they told me they were killing a rattlesnake.

Let's see...

Narrow head, no rattles, totally the wrong pattern for any rattler in Arizona...

Congratulations, moron, you just killed an absolutely beautiful Sonoran Gopher snake.

Their reply? It's still a snake.



I took the snake and measured it. The snake was a little over six feet long.

Awww,,,thats so sad. Some people just cant make an educated decision. If the snake isnt bothering you,,leave it alone

Whats wrong with people. I know when I stayed with my Grandma in Arizona while she was sick I saw many many rattlers, but the one thing I did observe is that they would just rather you go away. I have never had any chase me around and try to attack me! Some people are just MORONS and heartless. What did they think by killing the one snake that the snake population would suddenly decline. This makes me so angry and reinforces the fact of why I do not like most adult humans!

You said it Knox, and why is it that instead of standing back and admiring it they have to kill it? Very sad.

so sad. People don't understand snakes and what they do for the environment. I had to leap to the rescue of a black rat, because my neighbor was going to chop it's head off with a shovel. Why? Because she doesn't like snakes.

Whatever. I told her I didn't like her any more and I was going to chop her head off with a shovel.

People make me so very angry. I really genuinely don't understand why people hate snakes with such a passion, and I really don't understand why these same people (who would go flag down the police if you threw a concrete block at a dog) go out of their way to hurt, maim or kill a snake and then brag about it later.

It makes me truly angry.
