I saved a couple of lives today!!!
We had a couple intense thunderstorms earlier today that brought a lot of rain. Well as I was driving along, I saw something large in the middle of the road up ahead and it was moving. As I got closer, I realized it was a VERY large snapping turtle trying to make her way across the road at peak hour. So I did the most humane thing. I stopped in the middle of the road, put on my hazard lights, and grabbed her by the tail and placed her across the road in the direction she was heading. Then not 20 minutes later on my return home, with Steve in the car, I happened to look up a side street and saw a somewhat smaller snapping turtle (but still quite large) trying to cross right near the corner, so I had Steve loop around, turn the corner and I did the same thing, place her across the street, to make sure this little girl would make it to her nesting site. I was proud that any car that came along never tried to pass me, but waited until I did my duty.

That's awesome Lyn That kind of stuff always leaves you feeling good, plus I'm sure the turtles appreciate it too

Im not so sure about the turtle's appreciation....when they hiss loudly and try to bite me the whole way across the street hahaha Luckily I know enough to grab them by the tail to transport them...they have Loooong necks. As for pics....I just didnt have my camera handy Ken! And the traffic backing up may have been upset if I spent time communing with them hehe....all in all a great feeling though....
