Tiger Mauling and bad news for BC herpers

Deadly Tiger Attack

So what does an innocent and harmless tiger mauling have to do with herps? Well turns out since someone died, lots. British Columbia, notorious to us Albertan herpers as "the province next door that doesn't wreck your day with herp restrictions", may be getting some really bad news. Because of this attack, the SPCA and various other organizations are moving to have restrictions placed on all exotics. This could end very badly; I've heard rumors that it could mean bringing in new herps to BC is illegal or that it could spread regulations throughout canada, making herp owning here very bad.

Why this tiger mauling means bad news for herpers is beyond me. I fail to understand how having an anolis and having (apprently) bloodthirsty would-be man eaters can even be linked.

Unfortunately when they try to pass a bill like that they'll find it easier to include everything as a whole rather than list specific species.
