I like how they turn them into fertilizer.

At least there is a use for the toads after they are removed them and didn't end up just thrown away.
Unfortunately this is another case where the animals weren't supposed to be there in the first place and are wrecking the natural ecosystems.
Just because of some of us all knowing humans decided to dabble in things we shouldn't have!

Croc Killing Toad

Just watched an awesome news clip on Aftonbladet, a Swedish news page, about a 2 1/2 lb, 40 cm long South African toad (they didn't ID it) found in Australia. it was the biggest toad ever found there, and it took 2 people to hold it down and measure it. They said that the species was imported to Australia in the 30's to eat a kind of beetle that was destroying their sugar cane crops. of course the toads then multiplied like crazy and are now destroying the eco system. But the neat thing about them is that they are so poisonous that they can kill a small crocodile.

if you want to see the clip (the reporter speaks swedish, but the interviews are in english) you can go to
Aftonbladet: Sveriges nyhetsportal
scroll down on the right side and you'll see a picture of the toad and the text "Paddan kan döda en krokodil"

i just thought it was neat =^.^=

::edit:: apparently I should read more posts here and find the thread about the thing I start a new thread about =^.^= and here I thought I was posting something new...
