Sheriff shows up!

Well you would never believe this but that person from the other rescue had the sheriff come to my house saying I stole Oscar and the iguanas and the snakes After about 20 minutes of the sheriff being here and explaining to him what was going on then animal control knocks on the door too. LOL.
Well it is a good thing she and I know each other very well, because he made a complaint that I was not taking care of my animals and that the only reason I wanted them was to sell them,LOL. Shoot I would have to pay someone to take them thaey are so mangled and malnourished looking!

Long story short he got absolutely nowhere considering he helped load up Oscar in my truck and willingly brought the snakes and the other iguanas to his adoption expo. He even had the nerve to threaten me in front of the sheriff, which of course automatically grants me a no contact order against him , what a moron! As far as animal control she had to investigate the complaint he gave her which I could care less, and of course it was unfounded, I even had to show her all the meds and records on everyone here. She did commend me on all the enclosures being immaculate and how much time and effort and money I put into them, she also liked my clipboards hanging on their enclosures, which I laughed and told her without those I would be confused on who they all were
But here is the kicker, she liked one of the cockatiels I saved from this guy and came back when her shift was over and took it home Thank God! one less psycho bird, lol
So the sheriff told him he would have to take me to court for the animls and would probably get nowhere, and that he is to have no contact with me by phone, in person, or third party. I have to be at the courthouse tomorrow to enforce the order.
I guess he just barked up the wrong tree!

thats pretty amusing. if anyone should have had any authorities called on them it should be him. good luck with everything and glad to hear that the number of psycho birds is slowly dwindling down. keep up the good work with everything.

I guess he thought he was really going to get these animals back, Not a chance! The ones that have not died yet have made such good progress, but of course that is with a lot of time and effort! He is definately crazy if he thought I was just going to give them up without a fight!
I know he is just mad because animal control took his dog and a few of the other animals that were left at his home, cited him and so on. That was just from the report that I made about the ones that were still with him. I have not finished the report on the ones that are in my care because I am still waiting on the necropsy report for the little iggy that died the other day!
It was very interesting when I showed the sheriff and animal control all of the documents from my vets and the report I had made to the county where he lived, they both just looked at him and he said nothing.
It was kind of nice when the animal control lady came back to get the psycho bird, she actually took a little more time inquiring about the iguanas and what exactly it is that they need. She wanted to go into one of my larger male enclosures and touch him, he did really well until she stopped petting him and turned to walk away and smack! Right in the back of the head with his big old tail LOL. And yes I did laugh! She also did too and then stated I realize why you have the padlocks on there now.
So all in all everything went well and I am sure he will not try to take this to court and if he does he is a fool! My philosophy= Bring it on!

Wow, Nicole, the drama continues! And here I thought that the thread was going to be about the Sheriff showing up at the eeejit's house to charge him with something, lol! I guess he's even a bigger eeejit than I thought! Good for you! And congrats on finding a home for the birdie.

Good for you Nicole! my god he just sounds like a rotten human being. i'm glad you got recognition from the cop and the animal control woman (congrats on getting rid of the bird by the way) i wonder if he does try to take you to court, would there be any kind of further investigation on his facilities? then it all would REALLY blow up in his face!

The only thing that covered my booty was the fact that he handed them over willingly! And that is the reason I did it the way I did! I put a lot of pressure on him and was clear that he had 48 hours to show me proof of the vet for those animals or I was turning him in. So thats how I got the last round that came in. The sheriff was here to only investigate a theft report, and since he helped load them up it is kind of hard to call it a theft. He even admitted that he helped load them up, what a putz! LOL
As far as him taking me to court I am not even a little bit worried about it, he has NO money and he is a drunk! Even if he does I have nothing to hide!
