Poisoned Crickets?

I just am wondering if any one has heard of this before.
I purchased 2 dozen crickets from the local pet store where I have always bought them from on Tuesday. My water Dragon was jumping around eating them and seemed as healthy as ever. Wednesday when I got home he was dead. We cleaned the cage out, and Thursday when I got home my cat who I've had for 5 years and has never been sick had thrown up 8 times around my house. I saw some crickets running around that must have gotten out when we were cleaning the cage. My cat has been known to eat the cricktets and I was wondering if there could have been something to do with the crickets that killed my lizard and made my cat sick. I am going to call the pet store today and ask them, but I thought I would ask here first.

Thank you,

Jessica

Its possible.
Another thing to consider is if there has been anyone spraying or otherwise applying some sort of chemicals in or around your home.

There has been no chemicals to my knowledge. Something that has been brought to my attention is about a month ago my water heater broke and flooded one room in my house (not the room that the lizard was in). And there could be mold growing I guess, although I let the room dry out with fans and heaters and a dehumidifyer for 2 weeks. Anyways, my boyfriend has been sick to his stomach and my dog has been sick, my fish also died earlier this week and I have had minor stomach aches. Im not sure if this could be the cause, mold usually causes respitory problems and not stomach problems and it may all be a coinencidence. Has anyone had mold that affected their lizards or animals this way?

Thanks for your responses.

You need to go to a doctor and get checked out. That many sick people and animals in one place is not normal. Find out what's going on!

Sounds more like carbon monoxide poisoning to me...do you have a detector?? THat could kill the lizard quickly and make the dog and you feel sickly....check it out.....

That's what I'm thinking. Do you have a gas water heater? If so, it may be installed wrong, or repaired wrong, and now you have a carbon monoxide problem. Get it checked out!

It definatly could be carbon monoxide. We have a gas furnace. Im pretty sure the water heater is electric. We are all leaving for the weekend, I will see if feel better by the end of the weekend. I don't have a dector but I will pick one up on my way home on Sunday. The only pet left in the house will be the cat and I will move her to the shed.

I don't think it can be water contamination because we were buying spring water for the fish and the lizard. The cat and the dog drink the tap water, which is city water, and my boyfriend and I mostly drink bottled water.

Thanks, for all your in put.
