My ig's done that a few times. I'll give him a nice serving of greens, and he comes straight over as if he's been starving for
days. (*rolls eyes* He does that every feeding, and I feed him twice a day.) I usually leave the room so that he can eat in peace, but sometimes I'll go back in and he's just left a lot of the food there, or spread it around like kids sometimes do when they don't want to eat their peas. But after I clean it up, usually he'll immediately start getting restless, looking for his food. If I put more in, he'll eat it.
Don't ask me, I don't always understand every behavior. I feel sorry for the live mice/rat eaters' owners though. I don't have a problem with the food chain at all, but I'd hate to have to euthanize a mouse or rat because my reptile damaged it and didn't eat it. That's a lot more messy than cleaning up greens.
