Rolls eyes back, lol...Never listed to petstore employees. She is completely wrong. Ball pythons are bigger in the middle and thick and move slower. The corns are usually thinner and wiggly. Both are awesome snakes, so which ever one you choose, you cant go wrong.

Lindy, a friendly advice: don't be embarrassed to ask, even if it sounds totally stupid! We're here to help =)

Tell the pet store person to simply look at pictures of the two snakes!
Ball pythons are a much heavier bodied snake.

Neither corns nor BPs are particularly fragile -- having said that, you wouldn't want to drop them on the floor either!
The pet store person was either completely confused or just totally clueless. As Merlin said, BPs are a very heavy-bodied snake: by comparison corns are slimmer and leaner. Both are muscled from end to end, so I'm not sure what the lady was referring to there. BPs are wonderful snakes: generally VERY good-tempered and mellow.

Of the two I find the ball clammer then my younger corns. But both are hardy and easy to handle without major concerns of hurting them.

I'm wondering if that pet store worker was just telling you what he/she thought you wanted to hear.
I've had them do that to me before. Sometimes they'll have a care book right there that you can look at, and the information will be way off. My recommendation is to always do the research first. Most pet store employees have very little knowledge of the exotic pets they carry.
