I think you would be fine to house them together Ric - the females that is. Unless you are prepared for eggs then I would keep the males separate - they will almost certainly breed with no cooling whatsoever.

Brizzy - the bleeding and things you talk of in your friends leo sound like it could have had a prolapse of some sort. If the tail itself was bleeding, it could have been a bite form one of the females showing her disinterest in mating with him? Sorry that it didn't work out though
