Hey there demonic! Long time no see stranger. lol I would suggest he contact the locale Humane Society. They should be able to give him the numbers of the actual people he needs to call. Don't be surprised if they are illegal or require permits.

Yes...perhaps they are restricted...they are here in Mass, though they are NOT just over the border in NH. Probably why they found 2 6fters roaming around about 20 minutes from me lol...the guy set them free with their mouths taped up....what was he thinking???? At least they found the poor creatures.....

I found some information about private possession of exotic animals in Ohio. It says "Citation: No person may bring into the state a non-domestic animal unless the possessor: obtains an entry permit; health certificate certifying the animal is free of infectious diseases; and a certificate of veterinary inspection. Persons in the state possessing non-domestic animals do not need to obtain a permit.

Elsewhere on the same site it states:"Ohio is 1 of 11 states that currently have no laws in regulating the private possession of exotic animals such as wolves, cougars, tigers, bears, primates and dangerous reptiles.

I also found it stated in regard to Ohio that "We do not have any regulations pertaining to exotic species. The only species of animals that we require to be permitted are those that are native to Ohio. That's on a site that was actually dealing with the legality of sugar gliders as opposed to alligators, but the statement above refers to all exotic species.

There wasn't a date on that last web page though, so I'd try to contact the person listed just to make double sure there haven't been any new laws created since it was posted.

Be careful what you're reading right about now though. There is some proposed changes to ban dangerous animals in Ohio(haven't hard anything on it in a while though) so an unofficial site could be using false or outdated info.
