i belive the retic is the longest and the conda is the heaviest.

It's disputable. Rumore has it(I can't ever find a source I want to believe) the largest ever recorded by length and weight was a retic. But the largest on average is the green anaconda.

The retic has it on length but the conda is the heaviest.

Yeah, as the others said, the anaconda is regarded as the largest because it has the most overall body mass and weight. Reticulated pythons get longer though. It's like comparing giraffes and elephants. Elephants are larger, but giraffes are taller (though there's obviously more of a mass and weight difference between the two mammals than there is in the reptiles  ).

From every source I've seen, I would have to jump on the bandwagon with the reticulated python being the longest, but the Anaconda having the most mass. I guess it depends on your definition of big, it is really a relative term.

You are all mistaken, since this thread is under venomous, the largest snake is the King cobra. Just joking !!!
