Fire skink breeding ftw!!

Okay, so FTW = For the win (as Savannah put in that one thread). Anyways, I went into the pet store that I used to work at and my girlfriend just left to find out the reptile manager found me fire skinks. She ordered FOUR of them so that at least one would be male...and they are holding them for me until I get there so I get pick of the litter...AND she's giving me a discount. Talk about awesome service!

Assuming they get them in, which we think they will cause they aren't in demand and other stores didn't order them I will have my male NO LATER THAN SATURDAY. I've prepared the cage, moved Sauria's gold skink roommate out, lowered the wattage of the bulb and added another heat pad on the other end of the cage. I'm fully prepared.

Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted!! Thanks for the imput thus far. Seems Sauria has created quite the buzz on the boards!

Hello,

As you are well aware, seeing as you are not new here, we will expect pictures of the new aquisition.

In addition, I am interested in knowing how much you intend to sell the offspring for. (You can give me an HC discount, I don't mind! lol)

I am NOT gonna tell my kids! They'll beg for skinks, and since I don't do reptiles in the mail, I'll have to hit the road and head northwest. But I hope you find just the right guy for the job!

You all know where to find me for babies. I expect that if they aren't fussy about breeding I could have babies in...lets see....7 weeks inside the mommy plus 40 days...89 days plus downtime for the skinks...100 days? Plus about a month or so to shore up the weight...

I could have 5-10 babies on the way! I just hope they procreate like my gold skinks: little to no encouragement and on-demand babies (within 90 days of gestation, that is).

I'm charging roughly 60 dollars for babies, I think. That's canadian dollars and that could go up depending on how much they eat. Shipped would be extra, FYI.

Now form a line and wait your turn for some fire skinks!
