Handling the newbies

So like the night before I fed my corn I handled her for the first ime.
I was sooo happy! She amazing. She explored and her tongue flicked everywhere. She really didn't seem to hesitate much. It was nice. She seems to really like hanging out in her tank. I think she'd adjusted perfectly.
Marsha, I really can't thank you enough!

The little Bearded Dragon however is a whole other story.
Her appetite is improving.. still not eating veggies but at least I see her make an effort to get the crickets now.
My one issue is handling. She's insanely skittish. I gave her about a week to adjust and have been handling her everyday for short periods of time and she's very scared. Maia was extremely handlable from the start so this is new. Is it cause she's young? Or neglected? I have no idea...
should I keep handling her? What's the best way to do it?
Right now, I have her out for about 10-20 minutes about once maybe twice a day. I hold her and let her walk around on my bed a little (while making sure she's at arm's length... anything else I should do?

A lot of it will depend on how the dragon was treated prior to you getting her.
Just keep on with gentle handling to let her know you aren't going to hurt her. Some breeders handle the babies right from the start and some don't. If she hasn't been handled much she would naturally be skittish. She thinks you might decide to eat her.
At this point it is more important to have her in your hands. If she is still scared and you give her free roaming time and you have to pounce on her to keep from getting away it reinforces the predator image.

Yep, I agree with Merlin. Two things you can try would be to get her out and cover her with a wash cloth till she quits squirming, she will learn to trust, never put her down when she tries to get away either, this way she knows you are boss and squirming wont work. You can also try holding her after lights out. She will be relax and hopefully come to trust you more.

I did actually notice that.
I'll turn lights out and she climb on top of the biggest plant she has in there and if I take her out she usually just kinda hangs out.
