Snapping turtle vs. Dog

Yesterday my dog got a drink out of the pond my snapping turtle is in. When we went out to feed everybody he yelps and we see the snapping turtle on his touge for a sec then it was on the ground. Good thing he isn't that big. But the turtle was fine. Our dog had some blood on his tounge but nothing else. Just a funny story.

a similar thing happened with a neighbors dog and an old box turtle my dad had, except that he held onto the dogs nose for about a minute while the dog wailed around. your dogs lucky he didn't lose his tongue

You have to realize this is a border collie with issues, so I don't expect him to learn too quickly. After 3 years he finally realized it wasn't ok to potty in the house, not just once but every time he came in the house. By next summer the turtles will have their own fenced area, with ponds etc., maybe two ponds one for the snapper and one for the other turtles.
