well now ive heard of a bite too, see thats why you shouldn't keep hognoses... I bet theres other people out there that could react even worse than that. I'm wondering if he purposely let that snake bite him.

Yeah but you have to try really hard to be actually 'bitten', ie so the fangs pierce the skin, by them....their fangs are so far back in their mouth they have to get a good chew on you.....in my experience they are more inclined to headbutt you then if that fails they will play dead.

I would get one if I were you they are great snakes with loads of personallity and are a joy to keep

i still love the species, definatley one of the most unique of the north american species of snakes. i definatley wouldn't mind keeping one again, but it would have to eat, something I couldn't get the wild caught one to do.

It said it was a feeding strike. Probably an SFE!

It just depends on how your body reacts to the venom. It's just like a bee sting. To some people its just a minor annoyance and to some its life threatening. I know of one man that is allergic to cornsnake saliva. If bitten he breaks out in a rash!

Man I had to call in sick the day that I put on pants that had a bee in it simehow...I haven't worn them in like a month but when they were taken off the line there must have been a bee in it and it must have lived there some time...because when I put them on all of a sudden I had a big shot of pain and my leg gave out and fell to the ground and my leg kept on throbing and throbing and I had no idea what was going on because...well...I thought it was weird that all of a sudden my leg was throbing and I couldn't walk so I riped off my pants to take a look at my leg and a bee flew out...I couldn't put clothes on for like 2 days it hurt sooooooo much...and I got bitten before and it hurt...for about 5 minutes then it was gone.
