Slow worm research
Hi, im currently studying for an animal behaviour degree and i'm about to go into my final year which means I have to produce an honours project. Ive decided to do mine on slow worms but im having abit of difficulty. Ive been informed by my tutor at university who himself is a herpetologist that Devon and Dorset are good locations for high density areas of slow worms, but I have no means of finding these sites. Therefore I was wondering whether there is anyone out there with a good knowledge of slow worms and highly populated areas? If so if there is anybody who is or knows of a herpetologist or expert in this field that is local where there is a high slow worm density then id be extremely grateful for any help you can offer me.
I would idealy like to try and sort it out this month as I know that slow worm activity is inreasingly slowing down. Thanks for your time Neil |

Hello, Welcome to HCN. We have wuite a few members from England that may be able to help. I personally only know what I've read about them, I've never had one in my care.
