Yay!!!!look Who I Found

As many of you know my nile monitor ginko got loose over two weeks ago, and after a week I was at a loss to find him. We were sitting all minding our business and lo and behold he walks out from behind the record player , and my dad starts yelling, and pretty much steve irwined(run and jump) my monitor hehe. I'm so happy we found him. He's really really dehydrated and malnourished, but he drank water immediatley when I gave it to him and he'll be on a high fat diet for a while to get his body mass back. I'm pretty much speechless and I can't think of the right word for happiness that im having right now at the recapture of him. Anyone have any suggestions on whats the best thing to fatten him up quickly? He really needs to gain weight. I don't think he's eaten in all the time he's been loose. Awesome things like this don't happen often I seriously thought id never see him again, this rocks!!!!

Wow... I honestly started crying when I read your post! I am so happy for you! I wish my William would pull something like that...

Congradulations! I am sure he will be his healthy self soon enough.

Congratulation grim!!! What wonderful news!!! Happy Dance!!!

If he's eating and drinking on his own, I wouldn't worry too much about packing on the weight. Offer him foods you normally would with vitamins, have plenty of fresh water available all the time and offer him the occasional fatty treats. He'll put on weight steadily.

OH and FIX THE LOCK on the tank!!!!!!!!!

yay congrats I agree with andrea if he´s eating well and drinking there is no need for a high fat diet. Will just end up givining him problems later just give him his useuall feed with a few wax worms and other fatty treats every so often and he will put the weigh ton quick.

Congrats on finding him. I agree there's no need to try and fatten him up quickly. Just regular feedings or he might get ill. I would give him a real good soak as well.
